“How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers and sisters live together in harmony! For harmony is as precious as the anointing oil that was poured over Aaron’s head, that ran down his beard and onto the border of his robe. Harmony is as refreshing as the dew from Mount Hermon that falls on the mountains of Zion. And there the Lord has pronounced His blessing, even life everlasting.” Psalm 133
The Father led me to this passage in Psalm this week as I was searching for a blessing to declare over all the Heavenly hosts who gather here. I have read and meditated on these verses for days … even waking in the middle of the night with an assurance in my soul that harmony is what He has for us in the new year. So, I looked up the word “harmony” to make sure I did it justice and found confirmation from above in the second line of it’s definition. The first is what we all know it to be – a combination of pleasing musical notes. But, right below that, the Oxford Dictionary noted, “an arrangement of the four Gospels which presents a single continuous narrative text.” Or, currently speaking, the sound of testimonies blanketing the Earth and proclaiming the same glory of the Almighty God: the Father; the Son, Jesus Christ; and the Holy Spirit.
I believe the harmony He is calling us into is the kind that doesn’t just saturate our thoughts, but flows from our mouths, and leaves a stain of holiness upon the gowns of our servanthood. It glistens in our countenance and covers over the status symbols of our present culture. It marks us with His scent and leaves a residue that can only be traced back to Heaven. He is opening doors before us where spiritual refreshment is needed and He urges us to carry the dew of His presence into every place we go. Harmony is the blessing we offer to those around us in the way we greet them, honor them, and come closer when everyone else has turned away. As the Scripture has said, His worshippers (Zion) are drenched in His presence (Mount Hermon – the site many scholars believe was the place the Transfiguration of Jesus occurred) as they dwell in the promises of life everlasting. Harmony is the transformational progression of a surrendered life of worship and time spent with Him in the secret moments inside of His sanctuary. It is what happens when we let go of offense and we cannot be moved to engage in anything that is not found in the heart of the Father. Harmony must exist where He is, because He fills the void of division with His wonderful light.
Father, make us women known for being harmonious and refreshing! Let Your holy dew remain upon us as a mist of Your faithfulness – the essence of Your promises shimmering in glory for eternity. May we feel the drip of the anointing oil You pour out over us every moment of every day. Let it never cease, in Jesus name. Protect our hands, hearts, and minds from doing anything that would stop the flow of what You have for us. May the world see clearly the oil markings of You on our lives, homes, families, and places you’ve called us to influence for the sake of Your Kingdom. May we walk unafraid into situations of conflict and draw near to people who live apart from You, for we know that Your presence is the balm that heals all wounds. We need only to touch our heads, chins, and robes to impart the hallowed peace in which You’ve wrapped us. Adorn us with the jewels of faith, the joy of the Holy Spirit, and the crown of rejoicing. Set us apart as sanctified vessels of supernatural harmony. Let Your favor upon us be a billowing wave of revival. And let every second in Your presence form a precious fortress for our hearts … a dwelling place that welcomes a broken world into true redemption, peaceful communion, divine intimacy, and unshakeable love. Amen.
